WHO I AM

Organologist, curator and museum director, I work to connect musical instrument, ethnography and social history. After the diploma as a restorer, I have earned a MA in Conservation-Restoration of Cultural Property from the Sorbonne University.

I have worked in Italy (Milan Museum of Musical Instruments; the Correr Museum, Venice), Switzerland (Musée d’art et d’histoire, Geneva), France (Musée de la musique-Philharmonie de Paris) and USA (National Music Museum, Vermillion and University of South Dakota).

I am Director and Curator of Le Musée des instruments à vent of La Couture Boussey, and webmaster and advisory board member for the CIMCIM (International Committee for Museums and Collections of Instruments and Music).

Research interests include the History and Philosophy of Restoration of Musical Instruments, through the study of the written and sources, and investigating all aspects related to the understanding of the relationship between society, culture, technical evolution, and aesthetic perception, and analyzing myths and symbolism related to musical instruments.
